CIVIL SERVICE UNIT
BRIEF HISTORY ON THE CIVIL SERVICE UNIT
• The unit is responsible for the general supervision of all building and construction related matters carried out within the organization.
• The unit is responsible for setting up of the project management office where a major construction project is to be carried out within the establishment.
• The unit ensures both working drawings and architectural drawings are gotten before the commencement of any major construction projects, and they also ensure that government approvals are secured before kick starting any major projects.
• Then we also ensure that all leaking roofs are promptly fixed, soaked or sagged suspended ceiling boards are replaced as at when due.
• All wooden and Aluminium doors, windows and other fittings that needs our attention are attended to as at when due.
• All the chairs are inspected on a weekly basis for sagging seat pockets and they are fixed before the next service day. i.e Sagging seats are fixed on Tuesdays and Fridays every week.
• We ensure that the fire extinguishers are promptly serviced within the scheduled time frame, and this is often done twice every year.
• Here, we carry out routine checks on all our screeded and tiled floors and the moment a chipped tile is seen, the tiller is immediately called upon to carry out a corrective maintenance in order to prevent further deterioration
• Generation of in-house quotes that can be used in comparing the quote as submitted by vendors for major projects.
• Active participation in negotiations with external vendors on jobs related to the unit.
• Facilitating the KYC (Vendor Prequalification) on Civil related works and services.
• Enforcing HSE standards amongst vendors and in-house staff.
The electrical unit of DCC Estates limited is responsible for the following electrical engineering services in the organization
Operations
This include smooth running of equipment and ensuring that the equipment are available for use by the clients
Maintenance
These entails carrying out routine or schedule inspection as well as preventive/corrective measures with the sole aim of ensuring that equipment is in good working condition
Installation
These includes conduit and surface cabling for domestic and industrial concerns, connecting equipment/electrical apparatus to a new or an existing mains supply to provide comfort for clients. Installation of inverters, solar panels and transformer installation/servicing.
